Lubenice

Perched on an exposed rocky ridge 378m above the western shore of the island, this medieval hilltop hamlet is one of the most evocative places on Cres. Semiabandoned, Lubenice’s maze of ancient, austere stone-built houses and churches seems fused to the very bedrock of the island. The narrow road here is lined with stone fences, olive groves and stands of pine trees.
